  6.               About This Newsletter

  8. This newsletter is mailed free to all A.C.E.S. members. It
  9. is published on an every-other-month basis and is just
  10. one of the benefits you will get by joining your fellow
  11. computists in A.C.E.S.  Won't you come in with us?  An
  12. application blank is included in another section of this
  13. disk.

  15. The Apple Computer Enjoyment Society is a not-for-profit
  16. users group which has been helping computer owners since
  17. 1979. The club has five chapters which extend from W. Palm
  18. Beach to Miami.  We welcome all Apple and Apple clone owners
  19. who have a desire to learn more and to interact with fellow
  20. Apple owners. If you, or someone you know, fits this
  21. description, we would be most happy to welcome you to our
  22. ranks.  Information about our meetings can be obtained from
  23. our voice line, (305)390-2210, as well as in the ACES
  24. INFORMATION SECTION of this disk.  In addition, meeting
  25. notices appear in our ACES BBS, phone numbers of which
  26. appear in another section of this diskletter.  There just
  27. isn't any excuse not to know what is going on with your
  28. club!

  30. A.C.E.S. reserves the rights to all materials printed
  31. herein. All articles that are not protected by copyright may
  32. be reprinted by Apple User Groups and other non-profit
  33. computer organizations. Such reprints must give credit to
  34. the author and this Newsletter and a copy of the publication
  35. containing the material shall be sent to A.C.E.S. If
  36. you are a member of a users' group not currently receiving
  37. Bits & Bytes on an exchange basis, we would welcome forming
  38. such a connection.

  40. A membership application blank, which must be printed out,
  41. is included on this diskette. Just complete the application
  42. and mail in your first year dues of $30. Renewals are $20
  43. annually. You will receive a new member pack, including 3
  44. FREE 5-1/4" (or 1 FREE 3-1/2") club library volume(s). Entry
  45. into the club data base will entitle you to this newsletter
  46. as well as notification of individual chapter meetings by
  47. mail.

  49. The period of membership runs for one year from the month
  50. the application is accepted. Dues are not refundable.
  51. Please allow at least 30 days for processing of
  52. applications.

  54. Members may freely avail themselves of the "ACES HELP LIST"
  55. which lists club members who are available to offer
  56. assistance in specific fields. You will find that helpful
  57. information about your computer problems can very often be
  58. answered in this manner.

  60. The director of Piper High School has graciously offered
  61. ACES a meeting room in the school.  He asked that we public-
  62. ize the fact that the adult education curriculum offers
  63. courses in Apple basic programming, introduction to Apple
  64. computers and in Appleworks.  See their list of courses for
  65. more details.

  78.      abreast of the latest in Club library
  79.      offerings. A catalog disk will help you
  80.      to decide what you might like. It is
  81.      updated often and is available from the
  82.      Club Librarian for only 50 cents.
